DIRECTIONS TO THE ROTARY NATURE CENTER

The Rotary Nature Center is located in Lakeside Park at 600 Bellevue Avenue, Oakland CA 94610.

By Car
From San Francisco, Richmond, and Berkeley take HWY 580 East toward Hayward.
Take the Harrison St./Oakland Ave. exit (stay to the right). At the light make a right turn onto Harrison, drive 9 blocks to Grand Ave. Make a left turn onto Grand (move to the left). The next light is the entrance to Lakeside Park. Make a right turn onto Bellevue Ave. The Rotary Nature Center is at the corner of Perkins St. and Bellevue Ave., about 1/3 of a mile from the park entrance. Look for the totem pole.

From Hayward take HWY 580 West toward Oakland. Take the Lakeshore Ave. exit merging onto Lake Park Ave. Stay on Lake Park across Lakeshore, turn left onto Grand Ave. at the theater. Drive 9 blocks to the entrance to Lakeside Park (the 2nd occurrence of Bellevue Ave). Make a left turn onto Bellevue. The Rotary Nature Center is at the corner of Perkins St. and Bellevue Ave., about 1/3 of a mile from the park entrance. Look for the totem pole.

Parking at Lakeside Park is generally available, although less so on the weekends. It costs $2/2hrs. on weekdays, $10/day on weekends. Parking on Grand Ave. is 2 hour metered. Free 2 hour parking is available on Perkins St. and on Bellevue Ave. beyond Perkins.

Public Transit
Take any BART line that stops at the 19th Street/Oakland station. Exit the station onto Broadway. Walk or ride your bike 4 blocks north to Grand Ave. Turn right onto Grand, go 5 blocks to Bellevue Ave. (Lake Merritt comes into view at Harrison St.). Turn right onto Bellevue. The Rotary Nature Center is at the corner of Perkins St. and Bellevue Ave., about 1/3 of a mile from the park entrance. Look for the totem pole. Lakeside Park is also served by AC Transit bus lines 12, 58L, 805 and NL.
